Dr. April Macary received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic after attending Teikyo Post University in Connecticut. Her passion for chiropractic began after she was relieved from migraines while under chiropractic care. Dr. Macary has spent many hours learning focused techniques for prenatal and infant care. She is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and the Federation for Straight Chiropractic.
Our office is conveniently located just north of downtown Asheville at 260 Merrimon Avenue, Suite 101. We are directly across the street from Claxton Elementary School at the corner of Merrimon and Hillside. Office hours are as follows:
Monday: 8:30–12:30; 2:00–6:00
Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: 8:30–12:30; 3:00–6:00
Thursday: 8:00–2:00
Friday: 9:00–12:00
Dr. Macary will go over your health history with you to gain important information about the care that you require, and follow up with a chiropractic exam. Chiropractic exams include posture analysis, range of motion tests, and palpation (feeling the spine). Some patients may require more advanced testing and possibly X-rays. After evaluating your findings, Dr. Macary will suggest a plan of care if chiropractic is something you will benefit from receiving. Most patients will then have their first adjustment.
Adjustments are gentle and can be applied manually by hand or at times an instrument is used for some people. Most patients say their experience is very relaxing.
Awakening Heart Chiropractic accepts most insurance plans with chiropractic benefits. If we are out of network for your company, you may find that our fees are comparable to your co-payment amount. We will be happy to file your claims for you. We also accept Medicare and Medicaid.
Our Time of Service fees for those without insurance coverage are very reasonable so that everyone has an opportunity to be subluxation-free. Please call us if you have any questions.
